CSS - Homepage Code Problem
Hope, Im posting in the right spot having trouble with my webpage codes..... I am new also to this area.... Here is the code I am using it will be below my message. I have it where I can change the color but I cannot get it to be side by side like for the top of a web page..... Can anyone help me??? Also any websites out there that will show me how to make buttons like this one I got off internet..... Not really sure if it is html or css, or what . What I need is to have this code only to operate inside a <div class="reports"> tag. The problem is that if I add "div.reports", for example, to: Code: table thead th{background-image:url(img/c2.gif);background-repeat:repeat;text-align:center;}
and becomes Code: div.reports table thead th{background-image:url(img/c2.gif);background-repeat:repeat;text-align:center;}
That portion of code stops working. Is there a way to solve this? (Note: the page is private so I may not show its source code although, if you ask, I may describe how its html is formated) Hey, I think i just need someone else to look at this for me. First of all, the website url http://www.onlinecasinoboss.com In Firefox, the unordered lists <ul> in the left column do not display correctly. The left margin is way too big. I'm not sure why, please look at the page in IE to see what I want it to look like. And in Internet Explorer, the spacing between my top image, header bar, and main page is screwy. There should be no space between the header image and header bar (the flags are in this area). Also there should only be 2px spacing between the header and the main page, however it appears there is atleast 24px there. Again please refer to the page in FF to see what I want it to look like. I like css, and have decided to pursue my first design in css based off of the many professional designers reconmendations and reviews. But I must say it is a major headache to deal with cross-browser/platform display problems. And what professional designer wants to rely on 'css-hacks' when producing a product for a major vender. Greetings, I don't know how is this possible. I am trying to clean this page up and the rest but need advice to how to do so. For example, it is telling me not to use the & sign in the script but I am afraid to replace it with the & or & . The difference between the two is that the first one doesn't have a doctype set. The second version has a xhtml doctype. All my documents are written in xhtml so it must be done. I see that the problem occurs with my resizing of the <h1> and <h2> tags with css. After resizing the space the heading tags normaly take up is still their. Feel free to take a look at the source code and I hope you can help. Btw, I know the nav menu doesn't look right in ie, but that isn't my fault now is it? I can't help it ie can't read code correctly. Anyways After I get the menu working with "real" browsers I'll fix the ie errors. |
