HTML - Footer Background Width
Hi Guys
I would like to get the footer background on this site to stretch accross the full width of the browser, but as I have already applied a background image to the body then I'm not sure how to achieve this effect. At the moment I have a background image applied to the footer but I may take this out and just have a simple white strip which covers the full width. The site: http://horizonwebsites.co.uk/soccerwaveuk/ The CSS: http://horizonwebsites.co.uk/soccerwaveuk/screen.css This is an effect I've wanted to use for a while now on several projects so if any one has done this or knows of sites that use it I'd be really keen to learn how. Thanks, Kev Similar TutorialsHey guys, basically i'm not great with html and i've been wracking my brains trying to figure these out. (nothing has helped so far) Anyways, heres my site If you scroll to the bottom you can see the footer box, It's the same color as the posts. I want to change the footer box to white, but everything I change doesn't effect it. I'm also wondering how to create rounded corners on the main blog posts, as i believe this will make the layout smoother. yet i've not found any code that works! Any help would be appreciated a billion I have a background image written like (<div style="background-image:url(gbackground.gif); width:100%; height:100%). the problem is that only the right side of the image stretches to fill out the right side of the browser window. as seen here only the right grey column stretches to fill out the browser window, while the left side stays at its original width. in the image the columns are equal width. any way i can fix this? thx. Hi All, Nice site BTW, my problem is i want to add some text with a background colour behind it but i want the background colour to stretch the full width of the page ? Can anybody help me out Thanks Ok so here I am yet again with another mess on my hands. I know tables are tales of yore so I have recently dived into the world of divs. Well now I find myself with a coding issue that I could easily achieve with a table no problem. If I was using a table I could set a BG image and then I could put text over the image or another transparent image over that. I am wanting to achieve the same effect but with divs. If I am not mistaken all I have to do is create a div and float another div on top of that div however this I am finding is not as easy for the CSS beginner. Mind you I am not new to programming. So how is it done? here is a link to the site I am working on DeeJayOctane I am wanting to put text on top of the image in the nav div. But yet again this alludes me for some odd reason. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks I've got another problem with my website. I've taken a screenshot that I wanted for my website background. But since it was took on my screen, it doesn't fill the screen on wider monitors. I'm just wondering if there's any information on auto-resizing a website background. Or is it a scirpt/CSS/php style thing? This problem seems abit more complex than me previous problem. I'm on a 19 inch monitor. Here is my website for those that have bigger screens than me. http://www.dawncraftmc.com/ ....I had enough! My footer is all over the place! Why can't it just move down when the text becomes longer! I am just using <div>. My header, the nav bar and the right side bar are fixed and I want the footer to just fit in underneath. Anybody got some code which solves that problem? Chris PHP Code: <?php echo "<div class='mainarea'>"; include ("includes/header.inc"); include ("includes/navigation.inc"); if ($var == 'service' or $var == 'consultancy') { echo "<div class='textarea_services'><p><br /></p>"; include ("text.php"); echo "</div>"; } else { echo "<div class='textarea'><p><br /></p>"; include ("text.php"); echo "</div>"; } if ($var != 'service' and $var != 'consultancy'){include ("includes/rightside.inc");} if ($var != 'privacy'){include ("includes/footer.inc");} echo "</div>"; ?> im creatinh a box containing a text. The box must be wide enough to fill a text. menu.style.width = tekst.length - this functioin gives the number of letters in text. So if the text is "hello" then the width is 5 pixels. But i need the widith of pixels needed to fit the text in a box. How can i do that? Hi, Is there away to force my website to fit an Iphone screen when viewed on the iphone. At the moment the width doesn't full span the Iphones screen so it looks bad. http://pjm.co.uk.uksite4.yourwebserv...splay&PageID=5 Thanks alot Joe I couldn't find my footer anywhere on my page, when I copied a footer from another page of mine, it put the footer in the wrong place and I can't get it to go back to being a footer instead of part of the content box. Please help! This is the website I'm working on: http://glacurh.nacurh.org/GLACURH2011/ I cannot, for the life of me, get a footer put below everything with a thin, solid border on it with text aligned in the middle. The footer width, including the border, should be 800x40. The background color should be #FABF8F. Please help! I don't know what I'm doing wrong! You all rock! Please have a look: http://www.stainless-expert.com/new/index.php Thanks Chris Ok I just deleted about 100 links off of this page: http://lmiinc.com/LMIinc_Links.html And now as you can see there is some extra space. Here's a jpg of how it looks now: http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/o...epum/weird.jpg So I really really need the footer to be RIGHT UNDER the sidebar. I can find all kinds of tutorials online about making the footer "sticky" to the bottom of the page, but nothing about making it start at an exact location. The sidebar ends at 519px and I want the footer to start at 525px. I've tried putting that into the position property, but in dreamweaver it just shows up crossed out. Does anyone have any input? I'm getting so frustrated and angry that I can't fix this. It's driving me nuts. Thank you for any help!!! Hello, I'm not a web designer in any sense, but I'm doing this website for a friend. However, I can't figure out how to set the footer to the position I need it to be in. I need the white text to appear on the blue bar that goes across the bottom of the page. But the footer keeps starting at the bottom of the page and it's just getting to the point where I've spent way too many hours trying to figure it out and it's making me pretty mad. Here's the page I'm specifically talking about: http://dianarusselldesign.com/bbb.html I'm using Dreamweaver 8 because I'm poor, and again, NOT a web designer. Here's a screencap of what the css and dreamweaver set ups look like. http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/oo120/meepum/css.jpg http://i367.photobucket.com/albums/oo120/meepum/bbb.jpg PLEASE HELP! Thank you! Hello HTML experts. I need someone's help urgently. I am trying to obtain the header & footer html of my site. I know I'm supposed to go to VIEW SOURCE and whatnot....but then when I get there I get stuck as I do not understand this html stuff........ Please help me...... My site is dishnetworkoffers.net Hello, I've been trying to get a footer bar at the fixed bottom position. So far, it seems to work in FF, IE and I also checked in the new Google Chrome browser. However, in IE something strange happens: when a menu in the navigation gets expanded, the footer shifts over the width of the navigation div to the right. You can see the site and the problem at this test page. When you go over "hoofdstukken" in the menu, the footer div moves to the right - at least in my IE7. Any ideas what could cause this - and how to solve it? Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Tom I'm trying to add some buttons at the end of every post and this is the code I was given:
Code: <a expr:href='"http://www.yardbarker.com/author/new?pUrl=" + data:post.url + "&pHead=" + data:post.title' target='_blank'><img src='http://www.yardbarker.com/images/extern/bark_wide.gif' style='border: 0; padding: 0 0 0 15; vertical-align: bottom;'/></a> <a expr:href='"http://ballhype.com/post/url/?url=" + data:post.url + "&title=" + data:post.title'><img alt='BallHype: hype it up!' height='22' src='http://images.ballhype.com/img/hype/button_96x22.png' width='96'/></a> I tried to paste that in after the line: " <div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-3'/>" but it keeps showing me an error. I'm using a blogger blog by the way. Thanks for any help you can give. I forgot to mention the site is http://notqualifiedtocomment.blogspot.com/ |
