PHP - Help Me With The Reservation System Please
Hi all
I am building a website for a restaurant where the registered user can do booking in the booking page where user finds the booking form. my problem is I created the log in system but cannot workout with the booking page. I have this scenario - Customer visits site & registers details (name, email etc) on a "registration page" (creating a username & password which goes into your database) - done that Next day, customer visits site and logs in on a "log in page" using the username & password from the previous day which is now stored in your database. Can now make a booking based on this log in. (cannot do this) Similar Tutorialshi, i am working on a project in school ( web based application ) that requires me to do the whole reservation pannel as in the website. i am trying to do something close to www.expedia.com ( on the left ). any ideas how to do it. i have done my database in php my admin and i use dreamweaver to create my forms as i connected my database to dreamweaver. any help how to do it on dreamweaver without using codes ?? appreciate any help. I posted about this a couple of days ago but I got things to almost work just need help with the coding. I barely know anything of php so really need the help if someone would be so kind. Here is the code and below I will post the problem. Code: [Select] <input type="text" class="tcal" value="" id="time" /> <img src="images/calendar_icon.png" width="21" height="16"></div> <div style="display:none"> <SELECT class="tcal" size="1" name="gg" id="gg"> <OPTION value="1">Jan</OPTION><OPTION value="2">Feb</OPTION><OPTION value="3">Mar</OPTION><OPTION value="4">Apr</OPTION><OPTION value="5">May</OPTION><OPTION value="6">Jun</OPTION><OPTION value="7">Jul</OPTION><OPTION value="8">Aug</OPTION><OPTION value="9">Sep</OPTION><OPTION value="10">Oct</OPTION><OPTION value="11">Nov</OPTION><OPTION value="12">Dec</OPTION> </SELECT> <SELECT class="tcal" size="1" name="mm" id="mm"> <OPTION value="1">1</OPTION><OPTION value="2">2</OPTION><OPTION value="3">3</OPTION><OPTION value="4">4</OPTION><OPTION value="5">5</OPTION><OPTION value="6">6</OPTION><OPTION value="7">7</OPTION><OPTION value="8">8</OPTION><OPTION value="9">9</OPTION><OPTION value="10">10</OPTION><OPTION value="11">11</OPTION><OPTION value="12">12</OPTION><OPTION value="13">13</OPTION><OPTION value="14">14</OPTION><OPTION value="15">15</OPTION><OPTION value="16">16</OPTION><OPTION value="17">17</OPTION><OPTION value="18">18</OPTION><OPTION value="19">19</OPTION><OPTION value="20">20</OPTION><OPTION value="21">21</OPTION><OPTION value="22">22</OPTION><OPTION value="23">23</OPTION><OPTION value="24">24</OPTION><OPTION value="25">25</OPTION><OPTION value="26">26</OPTION><OPTION value="27">27</OPTION><OPTION value="28">28</OPTION><OPTION value="29">29</OPTION><OPTION value="30">30</OPTION><OPTION value="31">31</OPTION> </SELECT> <SELECT class="tcal" size="1" name="aa" id="aa"> <OPTION value="2011">11</OPTION><OPTION value="2012">12</OPTION><OPTION value="2013">13</OPTION> </SELECT> </div> </td> </tr> </tbody></table></td> What happens is that it seems that the calendar and the select are separate things. It shows the calendar but when you choose the date is like if you didn't choose anything. I mean it shows up but when you click book the next page doesn't pick up the date you selected with the calendar. Hopefully that makes sense and someone can help. You can take a look at it he http://regencycountryclub.com/QuickReserve2.php Hello everyone, and thanks in advance for trying to help me. I'm an IT student in Rotterdam, and I've got a little problem here. It's probably basic to most of you guys, but I've only been working with php for the past 3 months or so. I'm making a website for some company, and they want a reservation system. I've created everything so far, except for the fact that you can actually double book. Can you guys tell me how to make sure you can't book a reservation when that time is used by another reservation? Preferably even, when making the reservation, the reserved times aren't even chooseable. In my database I have the current info: table: reservations id (PK, UQ, A_I) date (date) starting time (time example: 09:00:00) ending time (time example: 10:00:00) ~Some other random information needed by that company~ Now it doesn't need to come to minutes or seconds, you can only reserve for whole hours, from and untill the hour. I made the script that puts everything in the database and everything, I just need a little script on how to check if the time on the date you selected earlier (it's like a step system, step 1 select date, step 2 select time, step 3 fill in other random info) is already reserved, and to make sure the reserved times don't appear into the dropdown menu for the times. I hope you guys can help me. Hello, I am making an reservation script wich i cant seem to figure out how to get it too check that if 1 house is ordered in sertend time. that is doesnt double reserve it and after the period it can but it may book another house in the time the other is booked. Script Attached Greetz Knuckles hello everybody, i would like to make a calendar that accepts only 5 reservations per day, thus i need to show how many empty slots are left for each day. When somebody picks a day then some info is filled up (and is written to database) and slot is decreased. I am not sure how to start for it.. I was thinking to put just a table in DB including the date. In printing dates function, when i print a date I make a query to the table on date field with sql count function in order to return how many reservations i have. What considers me is if I am doing it properly. because if i have about 200 reservations then 200 x 30 days x 12 months = 7200 queries. Of course if there is any similar script with what I am going to do i would be very pleased to hear about coz Im not going to reinvent the wheel. I have seen some open source scripts with colors and I was thinking to modify them in order to print slots left rather colors. Thank you in advance for any advice and recommendation. Hi Folks, I'm creating an equipment reservation system for a client. Every reservation has an equipmentID, ReservationDate, StartTime, EndTime. So, basically my script searches existing records for a given date and EquipmentID. I'm having trouble with how best to approach validation on new reservations to ensure there are no conflicts. Lets say two existing reservations for a given date/equipment are found. One reservation has a startTime of 8AM and endTime of 9AM. The second has a startTime of 12PM and endTime of 3PM. Is there a simple way to check if the user's submitted values for StartTime and EndTime conflict with existing reservations? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! -John hello dear PHP-Fans - greetings to you - and a happy new year!! i set up a WAMP-System on my openSuse 11.4 system. In order to learn as much as i can bout PHP i want to do some tests and write some scripts. Well the WAMP is allready up and running. Now i try to give the writing access to the folder mkdir /srv/www/ where the php-scripts should go in... i want to give write permission to all to all files in /srv/www As root I generally: mkdir /srv/www/ chown <webmaster usrername> /srv/www/ /srv/www/ should be readable and traversable by all, but only writeable by it's owner (the user designated as the webmaster.) can i do this like mentioned above,... Love to hear from you greetings db1 Hi all I have been looking though loads of tutorials regarding log in method for websites (not APIs), and cant help find that they are outdated. So I am asking what is the correct way to create a log in system using php? Modern websites use JavaScript for asynchronous web requests so this requirement should also be catered for. APIs and mobile apps use access tokens which is very secure if implemented correctly. Can we use the token principle for websites? As the way I see it that most php log in systems use php sessions and they create a session and save some data in this session when the user successfully authenticates, however the session id is held in a cookie so if the cookie is stolen then they have access to your account. API access tokens are expired and refreshed periodically so is there such a implementation method for web sites too? i am trying to add a like system to my forum similar to facebook where it shows how many people like a post. this is my code so far: $like_list = ""; $likes = explode("|", $post_info['post_likes']); $amount_likes = count($likes); $ac_likes = ($amount_likes / 2); $slice = array_slice($likes, 0, 4, true); $remain = array_slice($likes, 4, $ac_likes, true); $remain_num = count($remain); if ($ac_likes >= 4) { for($i=0; $i<$ac_likes; $i+=2) { $like_list .= $likes[$i].", "; } $like_list .= " and $remain_num others like this"; } elseif ($amount_likes == 1 ) { $like_list .= "0 people like this"; } elseif ($ac_likes == 1) { $like_list = implode(", ", $likes); $like_list .= " likes this"; } else { $like_list = implode(", ", $likes); $like_list .= " like this"; } $post_info['post_likes'] contains data like: Code: [Select] user1|123456789|user2|123456789 where the number is the timestamp. unfortunatly $like_list prints the username and the timestamp when i would like it to only display the username. This means printing every 2nd element in the array starting from 0. I have seen this done with for loops but i am not using one therefore i am stuck. Any ideas? and is this the best database setup for likes? the post_likes column is added on to the end of the post table.

Looking for the best way to set-up the db of a messaging system. Here's what I have so far (basically pulled from another forum), don't know if Table1 is even really necessary: Table1: id user_message_id recepient_id recepient_read Table2: user_message_id sender_id sender_read subject message created_at updated_at Basically it needs to function where, someone submits a message to the admin or moderator, the admin/moderators can review and reply, and then the user can submit another reply, and keeps going indefinitely. I want each reply to show up almost like a forum thread. How would I chain the reply messages to the original messages? I'm trying to build a login system and alot of the code is similar to what i used to make my news cms. basically all i wanna accomplish right now is to get the user input inserted into my database. I've already tested it out, and I get no errors, but like with the cms, the database isn't getting queryed. What's the best way to create this system. Should I use mysql to store all the data and if so, should I set up the actions in a seperate table or should I just join the actions from all of my other tables. I have on idea of what to look for, any help is much appreciated I considdered this: strip_tags() but what i want is to display the comment just without actually executing the code if you get me? I've abandoned my old script and switched to this one: http://www.evolt.org/node/60384 I got it working on my site just fine (djsmiley.net/members/register - you can test it out if u want). i just want to know how i can put all of the code into the pages i created using my template. It doesn't specify how this can be done in the tutorial, which is why im confused. I've tried everything but keep getting errors. Help? Hello, Basically i am following this tutorial -: http://tutorialzine.com/2010/06/simple-ajax-commenting-system/ for a website I am creating. But in that tutorial when you write a comment you add a name, I was wondering is it possible instead for my website to use the users username as I have a login system that I created from folowing a tutorial on the same site. I am new to PHP and web creation so please keep the comments simple. I've created a template system. I've got a function to assign a page (the templates are in /template/skin). It all works fine in the main root, but if I had a directory it won't work. $dir = "template/skin"; That is found in template/ I need to be able to assign the template even in directories. |
