PHP - Login Don't Work!

mysql_connect('', '', ''); mysql_select_db(''); if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { $user = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['user']); $pass = mysql_real_escape_string($_POST['pass']); $sql = "SELECT id FROM login WHERE username = '$user' && `password` = MD5('$pass')"; if ($result = mysql_query($sql)) { if (mysql_num_rows($result)) { // $user & $pass are valid echo "You Logged In $user"; } else { // $user || $pass invalid echo "Invalid Login"; } } } Redirect to login with dynamic URL (?p=) doesn't work I have two webpages that I want to be accessible only when the user is logged in. One for admin and one for other users. When a user who isn't logged in arrive to these pages I want to redirect the page to login.php. This doesn't work with the website I am working on. I use this script on the startpage: Code: [Select] <?php if(file_exists($_GET['p'].".php")){ include($_GET['p'].".php"); } else{ if(empty($_GET['p']) OR $_GET['p'] == ""){ include("main.php"); } else{ include("404.php"); } } ?> and therefore my links have this format: ?p=mapp/filnamn and it doesn't work with header('Location: /?p=admin/login'); If I skip this script and use ordinary links header('Location: /admin/login.php'); it works, but I don't want to be forced to copy the same code over and over again to get header, footer, leftbar and rightbar on every single page. I have almost teared my brain apart to find a solution but in vain. Today I have been sitting in front of the computer almost the whole day with this problem, but no luck. I don't even know what to search for. What is it I don't understand? Not long time ago I hade another problem just because I use dynamic links. This is the script I use on the page that I don't want to be accessible if you aren't logged in: Code: [Select] <?php session_start(); $username = $_SESSION['username']; include ('functions.php'); db_connect(); if(!empty($_SESSION['username'])){ $sql = mysql_query("SELECT username, usertype FROM users WHERE username='$username'"); $result = mysql_num_rows($sql); $row = mysql_fetch_array($sql); if($_SESSION['username'] = $username AND $row['usertype']==1){ $_SESSION['username'] = $username; $user_welcome = "Welcome ".$username; } else{ //header('Location: /?p=admin/login'); die("<a href='?p=admin/login'>You have to login as admin to access this page!</a>"); } } else{ //header('Location: /?p=admin/login'); die("<a href='?p=admin/login'>You have to login to access this page</a>"); } ?> I use "die" because it is the only way for me to make it work, but I want to use what is in the comments. Maybe it's not such a bad idea to use the method I use today, but the problem is that when I get the message that I have to login to view the page, the rightbar disappear and the page therefor looks stupid. Another question I am wondering about, is if the above script is secure? It doesn't feel like it, but maybe the security is all about the loginpage? I am currently creating a multi-user login system, and I have created the database in MySQL, but the problem is that my PHP script is not working as expected. I would like it so that if the user enters in a correct username + password combination, then they are redirected to a webpage called "congrats.php" for example. However, with my current PHP code, if I include a redirection instruction based on the correct input, then when I run the script, then the user is instantly taken to the congrats.php page without filling in any login details. I'm quite sure that the database has been connected to, as due to the layout of my script at the moment, the text that reads "You did it!" appears 4 times, the same number of rows in my MySQL database. My PHP coding for this is: Code: [Select] <html><head><title>Multi-User Log In Form</title></head> <body> <?php $self = $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; $username = $_POST['username']; $password = $_POST['password']; ?> <form action = "<?php echo $self; ?>" method = "post"> Username <input type = "text" name = "username" size = "8"> Password <input type = "password" name = "password" size = "8"> <input type = "submit" value="Submit"> </form> <?php $conn = @mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "") or die ("Err: Conn"); $rs = @mysql_select_db("test3", $conn) or die ("Err: Db"); $sql = "select * from users"; $rs = mysql_query($sql, $conn); while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($rs)) { $name = $row["uname"]; $pass = $row["pword"]; if ($username = $name && $password = $pass) { //CODE FOR REDIRECTION SHOULD GO HERE //header("location:congrats.php"); echo "You did it!"; } else { echo "Invalid username and password combination"; } } ?></body> </html> Any help in trying to get it so that my PHP script will redirect only if a correct username + password combination is entered would be greatly appreciated Code: [Select] <?php ob_start(); session_start(); require_once ("functions.php"); $returnurl = urlencode(isset($_GET["returnurl"])?$_GET["returnurl"]:""); if($returnurl == "") $returnurl = urlencode(isset($_POST["returnurl"])?$_POST["returnurl"]:""); $do = isset($_GET["do"])?$_GET["do"]:""; $do = strtolower($do); switch($do) { case "": if (checkLoggedin()) {include("usernav.php");?> <h3>User Logged In</h3> <p>This is the members only area.</p> <?php } else {?> <a name="User Panel"></a> <h1>User Panel</h1> <h3>User Login</h3> <form name="login" action="login.php?do=login" method="POST" onsubmit="return aValidator();"> <input type="hidden" name="returnurl" value="<?$returnurl?>"> <table cellPadding=3 width=225 border=1> <tr> <td colSpan=2> <center> <p><b>Members-Only Area!</b></font></p> </center></td></tr> <tr> <td align=center width=70>Username:</td> <td><input type="text" name="username"></td></tr> <tr> <td align=center width=70>Password:</td> <td><input type="password" name="password"></font></td></tr> <tr> <td align=middle colspan=2> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Login"></td></tr> <td align=middle colSpan=2> <input type="checkbox" name="remme" value="on"> Remember me for the next time I visit</td> </form></table></td> <?php } break; case "login": $username = isset($_POST["username"])?$_POST["username"]:""; $password = isset($_POST["password"])?$_POST["password"]:""; if ($username=="" or $password=="" ) { echo "<h1>Username or password is blank</h1>";//this does not show when the input(s) are blank clearsessionscookies(); header("location: index.php?returnurl=$returnurl"); } else { if(confirmuser($username,$password)) { createsessions($username,$password); if ($returnurl<>"") header("location: $returnurl"); else { header("Location: index.php"); } } else { echo "<h1>Invalid Username and/Or password</h1>";//this message does not show when the user login invalid clearsessionscookies(); header("location: index.php?returnurl=$returnurl"); } } break; case "logout": clearsessionscookies(); header("location: index.php"); break; } ?> What maybe the case, could anyone help me with this? Thanks Ted. Hi guys, Can anyone assist me. I am trying to create a login for admin and user (if user not a member click register link) below is my code: But whenever I enter the value as: Username: admin Password:123 - I got an error message "That user does not exist!" Any suggestion and help would be appreciated. Thanks. login.php <?php //Assigned varibale $error_msg as empty //$error_msg = ""; session_start(); $error_msg = ""; if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { if ($a_username = "admin" && $a_password = "123") { //Define $_POST from form text feilds $username = $_POST['username']; $password = $_POST['password']; //Add some stripslashes $username = stripslashes($username); $password = stripslashes($password); //Check if usernmae and password is good, if it is it will start session if ($username == $a_username && $password == $a_password) { session_start(); $_SESSION['session_logged'] = 'true'; $_SESSION['session_username'] = $username; //Redirect to admin page header("Location: admin_area.php"); } } $username = (isset($_POST['username'])) ? $_POST['username'] : ''; $password = (isset($_POST['password'])) ? $_POST['password'] : ''; if($username && $password) { $connect = mysql_connect("localhost", "root", "") or die ("Couldn't connect!"); mysql_select_db("friendsdb") or die ("Couldn't find the DB"); $query = mysql_query ("SELECT * FROM `user` WHERE username = '$username'"); $numrows = mysql_num_rows($query); if ($numrows != 0){ while ($row = mysql_fetch_array($query)) { $dbusername = $row['username']; $dbpassword = $row['password']; } //Check to see if they are match! if ($username == $dbusername && md5($password) == $dbpassword) { header ("Location: user_area.php"); $_SESSION['username'] = $username; } else $error_msg = "Incorrect password!"; //code of login }else $error_msg = "That user does not exist!"; //echo $numrows; } else $error_msg = "Please enter a username and password!"; } ?> <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> <title>Login Page</title> </head> <body> <br /> <?php require "header.php"; ?><br /> <div align="center"> <table width="200" border="1"> <?php // If $error_msg not equal to emtpy then display error message if($error_msg!="") echo "<div id=\"error_message\"style=\"color:red; \">$error_msg</div><br />";?> <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];?>" method="post"> <!--form action="login_a.php" method="post"--> Username: <input type="text" name="username" /><br /><br /> Password: <input type="password" name="password" /><br /><br /> <input type="submit" name = "submit" value="Log in" /> </form> <p> </p> Register a <a href="register.php">New User</a> </table> </div> </body> </html> Hi guys. What I want to create is really complicated. Well I have a login system that works with post on an external website. I have my own website, but they do not give me access to the database for security reasons, therefore I have to use their login system to verify my users. What their website does is that it has a post, with username and password. The POST website is lets say "https://www.example.com/login". If login is achieved (i.e. username and password are correct), it will redirect me to "https://www.example.com/login/success" else it will redirect me to "https://www.example.com/login/retry". So I want a PHP script that will do that post, and then according to the redirected website address it will return me TRUE for success, FALSE for not successful login. Any idea?? Thanks How to add the ability to login with username or email for login?
<?php ob_start(); include('../header.php'); include_once("../db_connect.php"); session_start(); if(isset($_SESSION['user_id'])!="") { header("Location: ../dashboard"); } if (isset($_POST['login'])) { $email = mysqli_real_escape_string($conn, $_POST['email']); $password = mysqli_real_escape_string($conn, $_POST['password']); $result = mysqli_query($conn, "SELECT * FROM users WHERE email = '" . $email. "' and pass = '" . md5($password). "'"); if ($row = mysqli_fetch_array($result)) { $_SESSION['user_id'] = $row['uid']; $_SESSION['user_name'] = $row['user']; $_SESSION['user_email'] = $row['email']; header("Location: ../dashboard"); } else { $error_message = "Incorrect Email or Password!!!"; } } ?>
Hello guys, Is there on web any updated tutorial on how can I add Facebook login on my simple php login script? Hi.., I use below method to export data to excel. header('Content-type: application/ms-excel'); header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=abc.xls'); if I run the script from the server. (http://localhost/export.php) it is work. (pop-up window if i want save or open the file) but if i run the script from the client (http://192.168.1.5/export.php) it is not work. (nothing happen) any idea how to solve this? This one requires lots of up front information: I have a page, for this example that I will call page.php. It takes get parameters, and for this example I'll call the parameter "step". So I have a URL like this: page.php?step=1 This page has a form with an action of page.php?step=1. The code on the page validates the posting information. If the information is bad, it returns the user to page.php?step=1; if it is good, it takes the user to page.php?step=2 via header( "location:page.php?step=2" ). So redirection is done by relative path, not full URLs. This all works as expected. Now what I've done is set .htaccess to be HTTPS for this page, via this code: # Turn SSL on for payments RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off RewriteCond %{SCRIPT_FILENAME} \/page\.php [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L] This works (initially). However, once you try to post the form, it just redirects back to the step=1 version of the page. I really don't know how or why that would be. I'm not sure how else I can explain this or what other information you may have. But it's frustrating to not get a page working in HTTPS that works in HTTP. Very odd. Any suggestions? (I don't even really know the best location to figure out when/why it's redirecting back to the original page.) require_once 'includes/upload.class.php'; $upload = new uploads(); $details = $upload->getFileInformation($id); <?php echo $details['upload_desc']; ?> then here the class. require_once 'db.class.php'; class uploads extends database { private $uploadData; function uploadFile() { public function getFileInformation($id) { $this->uploadData = $this->readData("uploadfiles", "upload_id", $id); return $this->uploadData; } But it wont work! Hello, I am once again desperately asking for your help, I am working on a simple login page and I am having trouble actually getting it to login. I display error messages for if the user doesn't enter anything but I can't seem to get it to work for if the credentials are wrong. It logs the user in whether the information is right or not and i dont even know what to do now

Hi everyone i wonder if you can help me he I need a script for a login and check login- create cookie. Here is my form: <form method="post" action="check_login.php"> <p> <input type="submit" name="Submit2" value="go" /> </fieldset> </p> </form> that sends it to check_login (which BEFORE i deleted something by accident, used to take me to a username and password box) But now all it does is send me straight to the memebrs area??? Can i change the check_login.php script to make it work correctly: Code: [Select] <?php // Connects to your Database mysql_connect("server", "user", "password") or die(mysql_error()); mysql_select_db("DB") or die(mysql_error()); //Checks if there is a login cookie if(isset($_COOKIE['ID_my_site'])) //if there is, it logs you in and directes you to the members page { $username = $_COOKIE['ID_my_site']; $pass = $_COOKIE['Key_my_site']; $check = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '$username'")or die(mysql_error()); while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { if ($pass != $info['upassword']) { } else { header("Location: members_area.php"); } } } //if the login form is submitted if (isset($_POST['submit'])) { // if form has been submitted // makes sure they filled it in if(!$_POST['username'] | !$_POST['upassword']) { die('You did not fill in a required field.'); } // checks it against the database if (!get_magic_quotes_gpc()) { $_POST['email'] = addslashes($_POST['email']); } $check = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM users WHERE username = '".$_POST['username']."'")or die(mysql_error()); //Gives error if user dosen't exist $check2 = mysql_num_rows($check); if ($check2 == 0) { die('That user does not exist in our database. <a href=register.php>Click Here to Register</a>'); } while($info = mysql_fetch_array( $check )) { $_POST['upassword'] = stripslashes($_POST['upassword']); $info['upassword'] = stripslashes($info['upassword']); $_POST['upassword'] = md5($_POST['upassword']); //gives error if the password is wrong if ($_POST['upassword'] != $info['upassword']) { die('Incorrect password, please try again.'); } else { // if login is ok then we add a cookie $_POST['username'] = stripslashes($_POST['username']); $hour = time() + 3600; setcookie(ID_my_site, $_POST['username'], $hour); setcookie(Key_my_site, $_POST['upassword'], $hour); //then redirect them to the members area header("Location: members_area.php"); } } } else { // if they are not logged in ?> <form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']?>" method="post"> <table width="316" height="120" border="0"> <tr><td colspan=2><h1>Login</h1></td></tr> <tr><td>Username:</td><td> <input type="text" name="username" maxlength="40"> </td></tr> <tr><td>Password:</td><td> <input type="password" name="upassword" maxlength="50"> </td></tr> <tr><td colspan="2" align="right"> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="Login"> </td></tr> </table> </form> <?php } ?> Some of you may have seen one of my many posts about email issues. Some users don't get them, and I have determined it is probably because we are marked as spam.
We are a service that grades sales team members on their phone skills. Listening to pre-recorded calls, grading and uploading them to our site, and then another part of our business looks them over and sometimes leaves a message that then get's forwarded to this persons work email.
I have determined there is ways to get marked as spam as default by not having an opt out link. This is not an option, these sales members employer has opted in, and the emails are going to work related accounts hosted at that employer. Also, if one of these staff members is not so bright, or disgruntled they may mark us as spam anyways. The bottom line is that we have very little control over whether we are or are not marked as spam.
So we want to start looking into sending text messages and this is where I start to question how good of an idea this is.
First off, if it was me, and the messages where being sent to a device that my employer did not provide, I would in no way want work related text messages coming to me. Unless there is a vested interest in getting them. IE, I'm the boss at this place and am always on the clock. What if you are on the bottom? It's just a job for you.
What if it is a pre-paid device, text messages cost money. What then? What if they don't even have, or want a cell phone?
The short of it is this. If I'm at a job that is just another job, and this employer tells me that I have to get these messages. I'm going to look for another job. I see the organizations having continuous issues and complaints from their employees. Thus us as a business having issues keeping clients.
What am I getting into here? What are your opinions on this matter? What are your recommendations as to alerting users of something on our site that we can rest assured are being received 100% of the time?
Thanks!
Nick
